Weekend Update: March 10th, 2014 - Another Inflection Point

While equity markets continued to grind higher following Tuesday’s strong rally to new ATH’s, the USD/JPY reached an important inflection point on Friday. We have conflicting signals at this stage of the rally. Friday’s post NFP pop and drop warned of exhaustion on “good news” while the USD/JPY rallied straight up to strong resistance and […continue reading…]

Market Update: March 5th, 2014 - "You know, it's a bull market"

“You know, it’s a bull market” Partridge (the Old Turkey) from Reminiscences of a Stock Operator  – Edwin LeFevre The bulls took a hatchet to my near term bearish count as the SPX failed to close under 1840 and reversed higher to new ATH’s. You can learn a lot by watching the tape and more […continue reading…]

Weekend Update February 24th, 2014 - Goal Line Defense

We are getting close to an important juncture in risk markets. Equities, US$, commodities and bonds are all signalling a potential change in trend. This is not a time for complacency. As posted in my mid-week update, the bears made a goal line stand defending 1850 last week but the bulls still have the ball. […continue reading…]

Weekend Update: February 17th, 2014 - Pamplona Returns

Last week saw the running of the bulls as the bears were caught short and equity markets rallied strongly through all near term resistance levels. The NDX and SOX led all markets higher confirming last week’s suspicions that the decline was indeed a 3 wave corrective structure. Last week’s post title “It’s a crap-shoot but […continue reading…]

Weekend Update: February 9th, 2014 - "It's a crap-shoot" but watch the US$

Last weekend, I proposed a 5th wave decline for the SPX with first support at 1738 following a break of 1760 which we achieved on Monday. So far so good as the low for the decline was 1737.92 LOL.  That was the easy part. Since then, we have witnessed a strong impulsive rally from support […continue reading…]

Market Update: January 28th, 2014 - Are we there yet?

I have written a mid-week update because Global equity markets have fallen hard for the last week and we are getting close to a near term tradable low. Ideally, we get another marginal new low for wave v to complete the near term structure. Following the USD/YEN 5th wave thrust down from its 4th wave […continue reading…]
